T-Modifications

The Standard T or Single T was a simple cutout that extended the blank gore laterally. This design was safe for student parachutists too. The descent rate was 18 fps with a load of 200 lbs. The turn rate was similar to a blank gore and it had a forward speed of 6-8 mph. The height of the lateral cutout was about 36 inches.

Standard T

More of a good thing, the Exaggerated T extended the lateral cutouts one more panel. The height of the lateral cutout was usually 18 inchs. The modification gave the parachute a slightly faster descent rate than the Standard T.

Exaggerated T

Even more of a good thing. The Bulgarian T was the Standard T with an 18 inch lateral band extension sewn into the lower skirt. This gore then could expand wider than normal. Lines 1 and 28 are effectively lengthened by re-sewning them 18 inches from the vent. The gore took on a bulging configuration. This modification was faster and more manueverable than the Stanard T.

Bulgarian T

Double T: This modification was two T's cutout on either side on the back of the canopy. It was said to be 'unstable' in turns. Forward speed was about 8 mph.
