PCA Parachute Wings

The PCA wings insignia was made to identify parachutists of the nation. The final design was adopted in September 1961. The badge was issued with every license. A hanging bar below the badge designated the license level. "Parachutist" for B, "Jumpmaster" for C and "Master" for D. The bars were the same color as the license level. Within the top of the shield the total number of jumps was shown, in 50 jump increments: 50, 100,150 to 500, then 750 and 1000. At 1000 jumps the badge was issued in gold. The first wings were presented to Joe Crane at the 1962 Kansas City tryouts for the US Team. The next wings were issued to the rest of the participants. After that every license holder was issued the wings.
