Strong Wrap Single Point ReleaseOne of the early attempts to design a reliable and simplistic single point release system was the Strong Wrap.A rectangular ring was attached to the end of the risers and another rectangular ring was integrated into the harness. The two rings were attached by a special Teflon impregnated webbing. The webbing was wrapped around the two rectangular rings.
A jumper pulled the handle to cutaway. The Teflon webbing unwound and allowed the risers to separate from the harness.
The Strong Wrap Single Point Release System was originally installed on the Eagle piggyback harness and container system. The 3-ring release later replaced the Strong Wrap.
The short-lived Strong Wrap was based on prototype developments by Dan Poynter.
